Add the AwesomeVideo MCP server to ChatGPT
Connect ChatGPT to the AwesomeVideo MCP server as a custom MCP plugin with OAuth, then caption videos from a chat with @AwesomeVideo.
Tested November 3, 2026: The OAuth URL answers with protected resource metadata, and dynamic client registration accepts ChatGPT's callback URL. The server speaks Streamable HTTP, which ChatGPT supports.
ChatGPT on the web
Workspace permissions apply. On Business and Enterprise, an admin may need to allow custom MCP servers first.

Open Plugins in ChatGPT on the web.

Select +, then Add custom MCP server.

Name it AwesomeVideo. Under Connection, paste the server URL.

Set authentication to OAuth. Review the risk warning and select I understand and want to continue.

Select Create as a plugin, then install it and sign in with the account that holds your credits.

In a new chat, type @ and pick AwesomeVideo. Be explicit: Use AwesomeVideo's caption_video tool on this link with preset karaoke.
Good to know
- ChatGPT treats tools without a readOnlyHint as write actions and asks you to confirm them. AwesomeVideo marks its read-only tools.
- To pick up new tools later, refresh the plugin from its settings page.
- Captioning costs 5 credits per minute (1 credit = 1 cent). estimate and previews are free; failed jobs are refunded.
Try it
- Create an AwesomeVideo key for me and tell me the balance.
- Show me free style previews of karaoke and hormozi-style on https://example.com/talk.mp4.
- Caption https://example.com/talk.mp4 with the pop-words preset for TikTok and give me the MP4 and SRT.
